SUMMARY:Eltz castle from Treis-Karden (21 km hike)
DESCRIPTION:Some of you went to Burg Eltz last summer but I could not make it\, so let’s pay this magnificent castle a winter visit. The castle is actually closed during the winter but we can still have a look around. \nStarting from Treis-Karden\, we will fist head east along the Moselle through Müden and Moselkern to then meander northwards as we copy the Elzbach prior to returning to the starting point. \nThere are four challenging climbs\, two at the beginning and two towards the end. \nI cannot make it\, but\, if someone wishes to organise something in the area on Saturday\, we could make it a weekend-long trip. \n  \nIMPORTANT INFO \nYou can REGISTER either via Heylo or using the form below. \nJoin our Telegram channel to stay up to date. \nThere are passport controls in Germany. Bring all the required documents. \n  \nFURTHER INFO \nCheck the ups and downs in 2D and 3D. \nThe weather forecast (switch to Sunday 19 when available). \n  \nHOW TO GET THERE \nThere are direct trains between Luxembourg and Treis-Karden. The trips takes almost two hours. At the time of this writing\, the return ticket goes for less than €60. \nThe carpool. \nWe start from Treis-Karden train station by 10:30. \n
