DESCRIPTION:Last week we did the south of the lake\, which was absolutely fantastic\, so this Sunday it is time for the north. \nThis will be a short exploratory hike from beach to beach to beach. Is not a loop and therefore we can turn around whenever we wish. \nWe can meet at the designated spot. There is another parking lot a couple of hundred meters up that road (direction Bavigne\, not Liefrange). \nPublic transport seems challenging. Leave a comment for carpooling options. \n

SUMMARY:Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park (17 km hike around Börfink)
DESCRIPTION:The Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park is a national park located in the Hunsrück region of Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland in Germany. The Park was established in March 2015 and is the country’s newest national park\, as well as the only one located in either of the two Bundesländer. The Park protects roughly 10\,000 hectares of upland forests and fields. \nWe will visit the archaeological site of Vorkastell and the wetlands of Ochsenbruch and will climb the Ruppelstein (763 m). DESCRIPTION:As people seem to think that the Vosges are too far away\, we are going to postpone our trip to Alsace and replace it with this hike. \nVery close to Luxembourg and pretty flat\, there is the Parc Naturel de Gaume within the Belgian province of Luxembourg. \nStarting from Saint-Léger we will visit a number of archaeological sites and other interesting spots such as: the cave of Montourdon\, Dent de Chien\, the fortress and Gallo-Roman site of Montauban\, or the Celtic fort of Tranchée des Portes\, to name but a few. \nThe ups and downs.
