SUMMARY:Mullerthal as never before (18 km hike)
DESCRIPTION:Well\, after a number of weekends travelling to each of our neighbouring countries\, it was time to hike back home. \nI know what your are thinking: Mullerthal? Again? Is there anything yet unseen? I believe there is and I am ready to prove it with this fully-packed loop from the village of Mullerthal to Predigtstuhl. \nIndeed\, we will be visiting the Schwaarze Mann\, the ruins of the Heringerbuerg castle\, Matière Grise (so hard to find these days!)\, the waterfall of Rammerlay\, and the Schnellert “dolmen”\, as well as an undetermined number of caves. \nIf you are new to hiking in Luxembourg or you are not familiar with the region\, this is one not to be missed. We will take our time to explore the area thoroughly. \nThe ups and downs. A link to the carpool will be provided to the attendees. \n

SUMMARY:Lux Kilt Walk 2022 (42 km)
DESCRIPTION:Freedom Luxembourg and Hiking & Mountaineering Luxembourg join their forces to support the Lux Kilt Walk 2022. \nThe Kilt Walk is a charitable event with origins in Scotland. The idea is to encourage people to donate to their favourite charities\, go for a (long) walk and have a pint in a cheerful and friendly environment. \nWe will walk from Clausen to Mersch and back wearing kilts (not compulsory but wholeheartedly recommended). \nWe will have lunch in Mersch. Bring enough food and water\, comfortable walking shoes and appropriate gear for the weather (a kilt is ideal for walking in all seasons and weathers). \nAlso bring some cash for the beer and the charitable raffles and merchandising. \nWe will start from the Pyg at 9 AM and we expect to be back around 6 PM. The party will continue until midnight or so. \nThis is a charitable event. Let’s make the life of the organisers easy. Be on time\, register if you are coming\, de-register as soon as possible if you cannot make it and do your best to stay sober till the evening. \n

DESCRIPTION:On the first weekend of the Autumn we will be crossing the Geierlay suspension bridge in Germany towards the end of a hike in the area. \nInspired by the Nepalese suspension bridges\, the Geierlay is amongst the ten most visited spots in Germany. \nHowever\, with its 360 metres of length and 100 meters above the river\, twenty percent of the visitors do not dare to cross it. \nNow\, if you decide to come with us\, you better do cross it\, otherwise you will have to take a long detour in order to reach our destination. \nMore details will be provided as the dates approaches. \nThe altitude profile of the route. \n
