DESCRIPTION:On this April 1st you would be a fool to miss this one. This unique Edventure will take us back to the Mullerthal region (Luxembourg’s Little Switzerland). \nShort and smooth but but with continuous little ups and downs\, rocky paths\, caves and the regular degree of improvisation\, off-track and getting lost. \nThis is not a loop. We start in Blumenthal and end in Consdorf. Getting to Blumenthal from LuxExpo (10:25) takes 20 minutes on bus 222 whereas bus 211 will get you from Consdorf (16:03) back to LuxExpo in about 25 minutes. \n

SUMMARY:Variations around Berdorf (28 km hike)
DESCRIPTION:If you were to stay only one day in Luxembourg and you asked me where to go hiking\, I would most likely say Berdorf. \nThis time we will go for a big loop that combines several of the most emblematic circuits and beautiful spots in the area. We will need a fair degree of endurance\, though. \nWe will gather at Echternarch bus station at 10:00. The 9:19 201 bus from LuxExpo takes 33 minutes. This is a full day excursion as we will be thoroughly exploring the area. Picnic half way and\, optionally\, beer/flammekueche in Echternach. To return\, there is a bus every half an hour or so. \n

SUMMARY:Natural reserve of Haard from Rumelange (20 km hike)
DESCRIPTION:A former industrial complex of quarries and mines\, Haard is nowadays the largest natural reserve in the country. We will revisit it from an entirely new perspective. \nStarting from the bus stop of Rumelange Gare\, we will head south to visit the arboretum and continue southwards to then meander along the French border\, following primarily the Trail des Crevasses (chasms). We will next turn north across the Tipp to find the Trail of the Butterflies to finally return south to Rumelange via Um Hesselsbierg. \nThe ups and downs. \nBus 601 leaves Gare Rocade (quay 6\, behind Luxembourg train station) at 10:26 and arrives to Rumelange at 11:06. \n

SUMMARY:Echternach - Wasserbillig (25 km hike)
DESCRIPTION:More than a hike\, this is a real journey or\, if you wish\, a pilgrimage. \nDeparting from Echternach\, we will first reach Rosport by meandering along the Sûre as well as the Deutsch-Luxemburgischer Felsenweg to then intercept the Mullerthal trails E1/E2\, which will lead us to the Natural Reserve of Deiwelskopp. Deiwelskopp is well known for its Orchideenlehrpfad\, which I avoided to mention it in the title because we all known just too well what happened last time (even though I am pretty confident we may actually get luckier on this occasion). \nHave a look to the ups and downs. This is not a loop. \nBus 410 leaves Luxexpo at 11:07 and arrives at Echternach Lycée at 11:44 (double-check the time tables at mobiliteit.lu as the date approaches for the schedules may be altered). This is located by the parking A Kack\, near to the bridge. Our destination\, Wasserbillig\, is well served both by buses and trains. \nDISCLAIMER: This is not an organised event of any kind.
