SUMMARY:Luxembourg Kilt Walk 2025 (40 km)
DESCRIPTION:Time to dust off your kilts as the most eagerly awaited charity event of the year is approaching: the Lux Kiltwalk 2025. Unfortunately\, I will not be able to make it this year. \nThe Kiltwalk is one of the largest charity fundraisers in the UK and has been a tradition in Luxembourg uninterruptedly since 2018. This year it will be celebrating its 8th edition. \nThe organisers are collecting voluntary donations for Pancreatic Cancer Action. Should you wish to donate\, instructions will be provided upon registration. \n\nRoughly speaking\, this wee walk covers the distance of a marathon but it is entirely flat. \nShould you find the full distance a bit challenging\, you can consider walking one half and taking the train for the other leg. \nBring comfortable shoes\, plenty of water and some snacks (you should be able to eat and drink a little something at the Boss). \nParticipants are strongly encouraged to wear kilts or some other tartan-resembling fabric. \nBack at the PYG\, a raffle with fantastic prizes will be followed by the regular quiz and karaoke. \n  \nREGISTRATIONS \nSend an email to kiltwalk2025@gmail.com as soon as you can. \nPlease\, do not register here as we are not the organisers of this event. \n  \nHOW TO GET THERE \nParticipants will gather in front of the PYG (Clausen) by 9 AM on September the 27th (Saturday) and walk of the way to the BOSS (Mersch) and back. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Anno 1900 Steampunk Convention is already a tradition for Hiking & Mountaineering Luxembourg. \nOn Saturday 28th we will have the regular version of this event and on Sunday 29th the kids version. This one. \nIt is a very easy hike starting from Pétange train station and ending at Niederkorn train station. In principle\, if you stick to the plan\, not a loop (but you can easily make it one\, see below). \nYou can stay at the convention for as long as you’d wish. Instead of hiking\, on your way back you can take the 1900 steam train to Pétange or the shuttle bus. \nCheck the ups and downs in 2D and 3D. \nPreference will be given to those bringing children (add them as guests) but childless hikers are also welcome. \nWe meet by 10:55 at Pétange train station. \n

The ups and downs in 2D and 3D. \nWe meet at the train station Belvaux-Soleuvre by 10:45. \n

DESCRIPTION:Allow yourself to be immersed in a realm of fantasy and imagination. A world of science fiction as imagined by Victorian era novelists such as Jules Verne. A steam-powered (retro)future. \nThere is nothing sexier to do in Luxembourg than the Anno 1900 – Steampunk Convention anyway. \nSome of us\, kilt-wearing folk\, will take the 11:20 train from Luxembourg to Pétange and\, once there\, the 1900 steam train to Fond-de-Gras at 12:15. The return ticket goes for €11 (cash\, an ATM machine is available on premises). Bring some cash anyway as not everyone will accept plastic. \nWe should get to the venue in time for lunch and then will fool around to see what other artifices this year’s edition has to offer. Have a look to the program\, there is some live music and several other attractions. \nYou can arrive/leave earlier or later\, as you please. There are several ways to get to Fond-de-Gras but private cars are not allowed. \nI may go back on Sunday should my progeny be in the mood. You are welcome to join us. \n
