Well\, here we go! Back to the Devil’s Valley. \nNo dragons on this one as it is very transited and perfectly signposted. There be dinosaurs\, though… \nI have introduced a couple of minor modifications and enhancements to the original trail. \nThe most relevant one is that we will start from Echternach this time so that people can more easily reach the starting point by using public transport. The designated starting point is right across the river in Germany because finding parking space in Echternach on a weekend can prove challenging. But you can try. \nThere is just one big climb and it is located at the very beginning\, the way up from the Sûre to the ridge\, then we will stay high up till the very end. We literally walked all the way from home\, from door to door\, a couple of times following different trails. \nOne could think that\, as suburban forest go\, the natural alternative would be Bambësch. However\, we are going to explore a bit beyond that this time. \nWe will start from the parking at Fräiheetsbam (freedom tree)\, at a walking distance from Strassen/Mamer/Bridel\, and will head north-east towards the cave Huel Kimmerchen. Also in the vicinity of Steinsel\, we will also pay a visit to the Roman Temple to then turn west towards the river Mamer which we will follow all the way south\, then east\, until we reach the starting point. \nAs last week\, some legs are not really frequented by hikers which means we can find ourselves in a variety of situations.
