Some of you went to Burg Eltz<\/a> last summer but I could not make it, so let’s pay this magnificent castle a winter visit. The castle is actually closed during the winter but we can still have a look around.<\/p>\n

Starting from Treis-Karden, we will fist head east along the Moselle through M\u00fcden and Moselkern to then meander northwards as we copy the Elzbach prior to returning to the starting point.<\/p>\n

There are four challenging climbs<\/a>, two at the beginning and two towards the end.<\/p>\n

I cannot make it, but, if someone wishes to organise something in the area on Saturday, we could make it a weekend-long trip.<\/p>\n

HOW TO GET THERE<\/p>\n

There are direct trains<\/a> between Luxembourg and Treis-Karden. The trips takes almost two hours. At the time of this writing, the return ticket goes for less than \u20ac60.<\/p>\n

We start from Treis-Karden train station<\/a> by 10:30.<\/p>\n
