{"id":886,"date":"2024-06-10T12:34:02","date_gmt":"2024-06-10T11:34:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.freeletz.lu\/freeletz\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=886"},"modified":"2024-06-10T12:34:02","modified_gmt":"2024-06-10T11:34:02","slug":"vulkaneifel-ii-swimming-in-a-volcano-26-km-hike","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/www.freeletz.lu\/freeletz\/event\/vulkaneifel-ii-swimming-in-a-volcano-26-km-hike\/","title":{"rendered":"Vulkaneifel II: Swimming in a volcano (26 km hike)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Second hike of a series exploring the volcanic craters within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geopark-vulkaneifel.de\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vulkaneifel Geopark<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Our magnificent snowy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.freeletz.lu\/freeletz\/event\/manderscheid-of-castles-and-craters-25-km-hike\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first expedition<\/a> took place in the middle of the Winter and the volcanic lakes were completely frozen.<\/p>\n<p>This time we will start from Gillenfeld to visit the D\u00fcrres Maar, the Holzmaar, the Strohn lava pit, the Immerather Maar, the R\u00f6merberg and the Pulvermaar.<\/p>\n<p>Those wishing to do so should be able to go for a well deserved splash in the volcanic lake of Pulvermaar towards the end of the hike.<\/p>\n<p>A very flat one, as you can see from the <a href=\"https:\/\/freeletz.lu\/freeletz\/files\/pulvermaar_auto.gpx.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2D<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/freeletz.lu\/freeletz\/files\/pulvermaar_auto.gpx_3D.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D<\/a> elevation profiles.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.groupcarpool.com\/t\/wnk9vz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">carpool<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We meet in front of Touristinformation Gillenfeld by 11 AM.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: 0;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d1043.7890123296359!2d6.904407319373787!3d50.12736146682154!2m3!1f0!2f0!3f0!3m2!1i1024!2i768!4f13.1!3m3!1m2!1s0x47be350b054b8b17%3A0x9c01261589d5a878!2sTouristinformation!5e1!3m2!1sen!2slu!4v1718018912126!5m2!1sen!2slu\" width=\"600\" height=\"450\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Second hike of a series exploring the volcanic craters within the Vulkaneifel Geopark.
